Your life stays on your machine
Wyrdwright has no accounts, no analytics, and no cookies. The only thing it stores is the life you are living, and it stores it in your own browser.
The save
One entry in your browser's local storage, under the key wyrdwright:save:v1. It holds the name and
pronouns you chose, your parameters, your age, and the fragments you have played, which is
what lets you close the tab and pick the life back up later.
It is never sent anywhere. It is not readable by another site, it is not backed up, and it does not follow you to another browser or another device. If you type your real name into a new life, that name goes no further than the machine you typed it on.
What we do not do
No cookies are set. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no embedded fonts or scripts loaded from anyone else's servers. Nothing here profiles you, and there is nothing to consent to, which is why this site does not greet you with a banner asking.
The server that hands you the page keeps no access log.
Forgetting
Reaching the end of a life and choosing to live again clears the save. You can also delete it yourself at any point, without asking anyone, by clearing site data for wyrdwright.gg in your browser settings. Once it is gone it is gone, here and everywhere, because there was never a second copy.
If this changes
Writing fragments for Wyrdwright will eventually involve signing in, and signing in involves keeping something about you on a server rather than on your machine. Playing will not. Should any of that arrive, this page changes before it does.
